Factory Navigation Questions

Hey All,

First post here on the forum. I just picked up my new 06 CC 4x4 F250 PSD last week and I love it!

I would like to know if any of the Ford navigation units from the other cars will fit into the double din unit on the F250. I would love to have one installed.

I look forward to hearing back.

Kyle

Welcome to the forum.

As for you question, I don't think that this would be a plug and play installation. This is a pic of the back of a regular radio:

Here is a pic of the back of a navigation unit from the new F150:

You can click on the pictures for a more detailed view, but there is a plug all the way on the left side that is for the navi part. Your best bet is to go with an aftermarket style navi unit like the Valor NVG-670WT (the one I am going with), or an Alpine, Eclipse, or Pioneer model. Good luck!

Thanks for the welcomes guys. I love forums and belong to a number of them. I really hope that I can get a factory unit that works in the truck. I hate the looks of aftermarket units. They look so...... aftermarket.

The removal looks really easy. Does anyone know if there is an adapter for the factory nav units that will work on our trucks?

Thanks,

Kyle

Well im curious about this too, im looking to replace my 06 stock single disc cd with a 06-07 nav built in unit. Im sure its just a matter of the wiring harness right? Just that no one probably makes one yet, whoever does will make a killing in years to come :p

I havent put one in yet, but I am waiting for someone to do a write up on the install and everything needed. I bought an aftermarket unit and someone smashed my drivers side window last week and took it. I say the in dash is the way to go.
