electrical cuts out, but engine still running

Hi,

While driving at 30mph, the truck's dash stops working (no tach, no dash lights) and no radio. The engine drives normal, and everything comes back after half a minute. This happens very intermittently.

What is the first thing I should be checking?

Thanks.

Start by checking your ground wires. Cab to frame ground is under passenger side of cab near front door. Motor to cab ground is above the evaporator housing on the firewall. Battery to frame grounds are beneath each battery.

My truck did the same thing the other day. I had another truck with a similar problem which the dealer blamed the ignition switch. Never did find the problem. I hate electrical problems!
