Upfitter hookup

Has anyone done this mod?
I would like to put some lights under my back bumper and tie them in to my upfitter switches. Not sure what kind of lights to try or how much was it a PIA to do. I have done wiring before but I was always more willing to drill holes and snake wires wherever I wanted. Now with this sweet thing I kind of want things to look "factory" whenever possible.
I was looking to do this to make hooking/unhooking my travel trailer easier in the dark.
Thanks, any and all input is appreciated.

I used a wide flood light from www.AW Direct.com (about $25 each ). Your manual will tell you which switches go to witch wires that are behind your fues block under your dash. Then gust run a wire back to the lights.I did mine along the inside of the frame

Why do all that wiring when you can do this!

I'm going to be doing mine here shortly and this is the best thing I've seen going as far as back up lights. They will only come on when your parking lights are on so you won't be using them during the day when you don't need them!

Looking at the title to this, are you talking about how to hook them to the upfitter switches Shane? If so, pull the fuse box - 4 bolts, 10mm as I recall and let it hang. There is a wiring harness right behind it with some capped wires. They should be labeled AUX1-AUX4. Hook you power into the one you want and that's it.

Thanks gang, I'll give it a try once I figure out what kind of lights I want. Hopefully I'll take some pics during the install.

You won't need to drill any hoes to run wires through firewall cuz they have 4 wires already through for you. i installed them on my 06 f350 and it was very easy

Just Remember the Upfitter switches only work with the ignition in the run postion, but what a sweet mod. Ford added. Ford has recently put some engineering into the creature comfort.

Thanks again. I still havent found any lights that seem to look right under the back bumper. Anybody have some suggestions? Thanks for the input about them not working without the ignition on, I forgot that. It will be ok, most of the time I am idleing as I back in or set up anyway. The state parks around here can get pretty dark at night...
Later,
