Adding King Ranch Lighted Running Boards

I found a set of the KR lighted boards and Ive heard some Lariat trucks had the wiring for these capped off on the frame.Of course mine didn't.I will not hack up wiring to install anything and was wondering If I can just buy the section of harness that the King Ranch would have had,and swap it with mine?

Would that not require replacing the whole harness that runs along the frame to the back of the truck?

I hit up Sunrise at least once a week,I wanted to see if anyone has done this before.Luckily the boards were complete.
Trophy, from what I can tell the harness is in sections.Im thinking I can use #14408 in place of what Ive got there now.

You probably already know this, but you didn't mention, the wire for the lights for the running board is black/light blue tracer.

And, it plugs into the harness at the frame. Looking at the diagram you have posted, it looks like that plug is what my RB is plugged into.

At least on my 04 KR.

I was going to mention that black/blue wire color but he didn't want to hack into anything. I have also seen some posts saying something about a dedicated purple wire on some trucks for running boards??

It is hard to tell by that diagram where exactly that would plug in? Is it an addition to the factory harness or a replacement section? That would be nice of it were that easy as replacing a small section, I have wanted to do this for a while but was going to go the route of splicing into dome light wire.

ZMANN,I appreciate your offer.Could you just look and see if the section of the harness with the rb connector in it,is a small section that maybe can be swapped out? That 14408 part is about $30,so it must only be a small section,Im thinking maybe it just connects one side of the truck to the other .Itd be nice if it was that simple.Any info greatly appreciated,no big rush.

Dan

Update :Just went out and looked, and it seems like the 14405 harness would be the one Id need,it starts by the transfer case and runs to the back of the truck, the 14408 must be the harness that plugs into the other and also runs across the truck.I really wish the Ford parts site would list the whole part number.
