Personally I think Kenwood Excelon is the best. By far better than any Alpine I ever had

THe big three I would say is kenwood, alpine, and pioneer...I feel that you can't really go wrong with any of them...only thing I've found is to me it seems like you get more for you money when going with pioneer...but that's just me

I'm looking at this bad boy when I get around to stereo upgrades (drivetrain comes first!)
AVH-X8500BHS - 2-DIN Multimedia DVD Receiver with 7? WVGA Touchscreen Display, MIXTRAX, Bluetooth®, HD Radio? Tuner, SiriusXM Ready, and AppRadio Mode for iPhone® and Select Android? Devices | Pioneer Electronics USA

What catches my eye about this head unit-
BT, HD and Sirius - covers all the options
Dual Zone compatible - important for me as I've got an Excursion with rear DVD
AppRadio Mode - the navigation units are much slower due to the HU having to do the processing. With AppRadio I can use my Waze app via my phone for nav without having slower overall performance of the HU.

I am shopping as well. I want back up camera capability as well as as apps and navigation. I am undecided on brand but it seems that Pioneer has a lot to choose from. I have been waiting because so much has changed so fast so I will be watching this thread in hopes that those with experience will chime in. I would love to upgrade my head unit so as to have bluetooth, back up camera, apps and navigation.
