Speaker upgrade

Now that I replaced the head unit in my truck, I want to upgrade my speakers. I don't want anything crazy where I have to add amps yet, just a good set to go into the factory locations. Any of you guys have suggestions on what kind to get? Mine is a 2004 CC.

I was recommended Alpine Type S which have been good for me so far and I still have the factory head unit.

I hadn't really thought about a budget yet. Maybe $100 per pair

I have used several brands at that price point that I've been happy with.

The Polk DB series

The Kicker KS series

Alpine type S

The above two can be had on sale from BB, Crutchfield, etc. on sale for less than the normal price point of 99/pair.

MB Quart

JL Audio

the above can be found on sale at the 99 price point

If you step up the budget to say 139-159/pair, you can get Focals . Which is what I recommend. Even the budget Focals are great, and IMHO outperform 99% of the box store "higher end" stuff.

I've heard of Focal speakers but I've never heard how they sound.

Right now I'm just wanting to replace what's in the truck and not add anything else.

Like butter. Even their lower end "budget" speakers are smooth, silky, and full of warmth. Even with aluminum tweeters, the highs don't sound harsh.

Are you wanting components for the front?

I would do components for the right price but I've never installed a set. I've ways thought you had to have an amp to run components
