CD player won't accept CDs!

Hey everybody, got a problem here. I bought a new to me 2006 powerstroke about 2 weeks ago and tried using a cd for the first time today. Well to my surprise the dang thing would not pull the cd in! Is there anything I can do to fix it or am I looking at a new head unit? It's the single disc factory player that comes in an xlt. Thanks for any help.

My factory head unit eventually did the same thing. I bought a used factory 6-disc player and installed it with nothing else needed.

No wiring changes needed or anything? Plug in and go?

There are some differences in the wiring harness from year to year and trim level to level, but most in the same dash style interchange. I think it has more to do with cab configuration and the number of speakers, and some production changes. Just slip out your radio, take a photo of your plug and compare it to a photo of the female plug on the rear of the radio you want, and match it up. I put a 6-disc CD radio in my father-in-law's 05 XL that came with only an AM-FM. No additional parts needed.

I got a good deal on a Pioneer 7" touch-screen AVHX-5600 BT for mine to play DVDs for the boys when traveling and to have an in-dash display for front AND rear cameras. Loving that. And the install was super easy.
