1 inc reading

Hey I'm new to the forum. I have a "1 inc" reading. EGR. What does this mean and how can I fix it. Thanks.

I plug the scanner into the truck. No codes and 1 inc reading. It's the EGR system. Idk how to make that system ready?

I have no idea what "1 inc reading" means. Just a FYI, not all scan tools can read code correctly. The scan tool your using might not read the EGR codes.

Sorry I should elaborate lol I have a 2007 350 6.0 PSD. I have a pocket scan scanner. It's nothing special. I plug it in and it reads 0 codes. 1 incomplete. And 2 ready. The incomplete is the EGR system

Might be the scanner, most cheaper scanners won't read manufacturer specific codes.

Yeah it's a cheaper one. I've had it for a while and just never used it on the truck before. Hoping you're right about the manufacturer specific codes. It reads the EGR codes on every other vehicle I've plugged it into but I know these PS's are a different animal. Only reason I'm worried at all is I just replaced the EGR valve. I wasn't sure if it needed to be programmed or something for a new one. This is my first diesel and I'm slowly becoming familiar with the ins and outs of this beast

shoot I wouldn't sweat the 1 inc sorry for the typo

egr valves are plug and go
no programming and if the system had/ has a code it will self clear after a few drive cycles assuming the problem is repaired
