Inconsistent Fuel Gauge Reading

Hello all,
I've noticed after two different fill ups, I noticed that my fuel gauge isn't quite reading accurately. It'll hold on FULL until about 50 miles and then drop to 3/4 tank and then 1/2 tank at 100 miles. When I fill up at a half tank, it only takes 10 gallons of fuel to top it off. At first I thought I was getting crappy fuel mileage but thankfully, that isn't the case.

I've put Diesel Kleen (grey bottle) in it on the last fuel up as I read on a different forum that it helped correct the issue, but I'm still experiencing the problem. Thoughts?

**Also, on a side note, I have another question that I've read mixed answers to. After shutting the truck off, there is a buzzing clicking sound (almost like a pump cycling) for about 15 seconds and then quits. What exactly is it? My truck is an 04 6.0L. Not sure what firmware the FICM has.

Thanks!

by "top it off" do you mean the handle clicking off or do you fill the neck all the way up?

It sounds like it could be a bad sender.

The noise is likely the injector cycling

Thanks! Ya, from half a tank it only takes 10 gallons until the pump handle clicks off. I never fill it clean up the tube. Is the sensor located in the tank?

As for the sound, I've read somewhere that there is a new heat inductive flash for the FICM that eliminates the buzzing after the truck is turned off. If so, I might schedule a time to take my truck to the dealership and pay the $100 to get it updated.
