wiring in AUX to a 3.5mm headphone jack
I have a stock ford stereo that has the aux button, and I am trying to wire it into a 3.5mm female port to mount to the dash, I found a wiring schematic, and I wired it as I thought would work, but nothing. Anyone know more about car audio help me?
I wired the Right + on the stereo to the Right on the 3.5mm jack, and same with the Left +, and on the Right and Left- I ran them together to the ground on or common on the 3.5mm jack, anyone know why this doesnt work. I dont want to spend $100 on a aftermarket part if I can do it for $2.69 at radio shack.
I included three pictures, first is ford wiring diagram, the middle input is what I am trying to wire to, notice the Stereo R+ and R-, and the L+ and L-,
second pic is the radio shack 3.5mm plug, the diagram is for a different application but should be the same I am using connection 5 and 2 for left and right and the 1 for grounding both from the R- and L- together.
Last pic is just one that I found online, is basically what I am trying to do
