LED light bar to replace the factory fog lights

Seeing if anyone has done this. I have an 04 KR with factory fog lights that I want to put a 20" Rigid E2 light in place of, but keep the function off of the fog light switch. The factory fogs are 35 watts per or 70 watts for the set. But the 20" bar is 150 watts or 9.5 amps.

I would rather not have to do a relay but may have too. Any input is appreciated.

Yep, a lot of people have done this and BPD sells a mounting kit to make it all bolt in easy. There may be another kit, but I don't recall right now

Either way, you'd probably be fine running that power through the stock wiring, but I say better safe than sorry and do one anyways.....the stock wiring to the fogs is a joke and a relay upgrade kit is pretty easy to build. I built one for my lights in my bumper (Lightforce 140s) that retains the fog light switch function to turn them on. The switch just triggers the relay and sends lots of juice to the lights......there's a spot behind my front plate that's getting a 10" E2 when I get the $$$......Please post some night pics when you get that 20" in there

Thanks for the heads up on the BPD items. I just ordered that and the factory plug and play connector.

On a side note I live in Portland but spend a decent amount of time up on Mt Emily. I see you are just over the hill. Also what bumper is that that you have?

You live in Portland but spend time on Mt. Emily??? Like the one just above La Grande, or is there another one I'm not aware of?

It's a Fusion, built in Payette, ID. http://fusionbumpers.com/

Have hunting rights down in Duncan and most of Black mountain, Meacham Creek. Long drive but good change of pace from Portland.

Should have the light in hand later this month. It was a 2-3 week lead time.

Run it through a relay for sure...just to be safe. I've got mine on a separate switch for now, might move it over to the OE switch.

KD Fabworks has brackets for the 99-07 trucks, and in Portland, OR as well.

Do you have any pics of how it mounts? I'm wanting to do a lightbar in place of my factory fog lights.
