Keyless Entry Problem!

I have a 2006 Ford F350 XLT. My truck only came with one key (not factory, walmart cut) and no fob. I called a Ford dealership and gave my VIN, they looked up and told me that my truck was equipped from the factory with a keyless entry option. I looked in my owners manual on page 82 and it also says your vehicle is equipped with a remote keyless entry system. So I ordered two remote key fobs off the internet. I have read the owners manual for programming to try to get it into to learning mode and I just can't get it to respond and go into learning mode. I open the door, close the door, hit the lock button on the driver door, hit the unlock button on the driver door, turn the key to the "off" position, cycle to the "on" position 8 times rapidly and leave in "on" position the 8th time. Locks don't cycle or anything. Any information on this or a trick that I don't know about? I know I must have tried to get it into learning mode at least 15 times and still no luck. Thanks.

No that's the odd thing. But I called the dealership and had them run my VIN and they said that the keyless entry option came on my truck.

Problem solved. Called Ford directly and gave VIN. No keyless entry, dealership told me wrong. So now this leads to another question. How hard would it be to put one of those keypads on the door and a keyless entry factory remote system?

I have a 2006 F-350 Lariat. I purchased the truck used and did not get the keyless entry code. It has the Keyless Entry on the door. I'm trying to find the factory code hopefully the previous owner has not changed the code. Can I find the factory keyless entry code using my VIN? Any help is greatly appreciated. I can be contacted via HillmanComputers@yahoo.com

I doubt anyone will email you to answer this

you can't change the factory code you can only add user codes

do a google the code is on the VSS module behind the radio or a dealer can pull it for you

Thank you for your reply ZMann, I'm not trying to change the factory keyless entry code. I'm trying to find the factory keyless entry code. Also, you say the factory code is behind the radio. Would you know how to pull the radio out so I can find the factory code? Thank yoiu

I know your not trying to change it ;-) but you feared it had been changed so I was saying have no fear you can not change it without replacing the whole module

there are plenty of google pages showing you where to look

i will see if i can dig one up
