Factory Six Disc Stereo...XM?
I am looking for a way to get XM in my 2006 F250. The stereo has the Aux button on it. I know I can buy the adapter that goes to RCA and then run my SkyFi2 thru the RCA jacks and mount that. But does anyone know if there are any interfaces that work directly...does this stereo support XM Direct and an interface to control it and run everything thru the factory stereo?
Thanks in advance! Chad |

I don't know about XM, but I have seen on ebay a system for sirius. Here is the link for the unit that I have seen. Hope it helps |

As far as I know the interface will only work w/ Sirius. Ford has a deal w/ Sirius, and they make the unit special so that it will display everything on the HU, so you don't need to have one of those recievers on your dash or windshield. Also you should read my topic on the sirius w/ the 6-disc HU. The Sirius unit is not made to work w/ the SD, not until 08. -BG06. |

I am no expert, but I have a friend who has a 2002 F-250 and he purchased a HU that is 6cd with sat and aux button and sirius sat. setup from ebay and had it installed in his F-250 and everything work fine. NO problems what so ever. I will try and take some pic. and post what it looks like, HU, sirius box, ant., etc.

I'm just going on what the Dealer told me. That box that is on the Ebay auction, is what I've got. But it is something that is brand new and was just released a month ago, by some company that Ford works with. Furthermore, the dealer says that the HU has to be one from an F150, which is what is in mine. This is all from the dealer. I do know for sure that I extensively looked online to try and find out if there was a Sirius system (through the HU) for the SD, and it wasn't listed anywhere, but there was a lot for the 150. -BG06. |

The Aux-button works great, and sounds like it was factory installed. Well sort of... satellite radio always sounds really compressed no matter what you use. PIE makes a convertor that plugs into the back of your factory deck. The model# is FRD04-aux (I think). I had mine hooked to a Roady XT mounted on the air vent. Car Toys and a variety of online retailers should be able to get you hooked up pretty easily. There are a pair of RCA inputs on it so you'll need a short 3.5mm phono to male RCA cable available at Radio Shack. Price is around $85.
