Recommendations: Looking for Monitor/Tuning solution

Hi all,

Looks like I just blew out my EGR and Oil coolers so I am installing the BPD kit with the cold weather option (Utah). While I'm at it I want a tuning/monitoring solution that will allow me to route the display to an in dash DVD player. What do you recommend?

Wouldn't mind recommendations for the indash player either. I also want to install a backup cam.

CNG kit.

BPD EGR cooler
BPD remote oil cooler.
BPD coolant filter.

1st, I would recommend a cooler delete, its cheaper, you will get a bit more performance, and it can pass emissions Depending on how they do it. It will pass with stock tune as long as its an opacity test (like here in CO).

2nd. Tuning, go with SCT, the custom tunes are insane compared to stock. The new livewire TS will be a monitor and tuner in one, not sure how great the monitor functionality is but will tune like any other SCT. Non-livewire models will monitor most things but they are ugly to have in the cab.

3rd. There ia an android app called Torque or something similar that connects via a OBDII bluetooth plug, so if there is an in dash android based device thats an option. Otherwise there are a few forums ive seen that I cannot find that address this specifically. I think a user named Tuscany described his setup. You can search for his page and see previous posts, or maybe pm him.

Hope this helps

A monitor is where I would start, I do not know if you have checked out the stickies but there is a lot of good info there. Check this out Write Up: Monitoring the 6.0L PSD.

A monitor really is a personal preference, I have a dash boss and I love it I can monitor egt and fuel pressure but I hear edge cts is good as well. Now as far as a programmer sct is going to be best, I have a live wire with custom tunes from Vivian but there are many different tuners out there. Some other good options as far as performance are ficm tune from php or a billet wheel on your turbo. It really depends on what your goals are.
