Vacuum Pump?
Hey, been trying to get my ac to work right again. It only blows through the defrost vents. I found a leak yeasterday and it fixed the problem. I went to my ranch and had to used 4wd and it reverted back to the defrost vents, and now i cant get it to go back to the normal vents. no leakes that i can find. tryed to take a multi meter to check for power to the pump but didnt get the littlest bit. not sure if it only runs during a sertin time or not. What do yall recomend? Sure is hot with no AC

Well i think i found the problem. I pulled the vacuum pump off. and hooked a 12v to it. and nothing. didnt make a peep. So i pulled the dust cover off it and it smells like its been cooked in the oven at 450 for 3hrs. so im pretty sure its toast. anyone have any ideas on a universal one i can get? ford wants 170 bucks for this LITTLE pump.

I don't think you're gonna find a universal replacement. These things are basically only used on diesels. This is the cheapest I've ever found them: |

Here's another place I found a little cheaper. Ford Superduty ELECTRIC Vacuum Pump The part number is F6TZ-2A451-AA in case you want to do some more looking. |
