Dead battery after alternator replacement

I have a 2005 F-250 XLT 4x4 and had some issues with slow cranking at start up. I had the batteries tested once with no problems found. After the first test I had a dead battery and had the charging system tested again with no problem found. Third time it turns out the alternator was not charging under load and the alternator was replaced. This is the second OEM alternator replaced and the batteries were replaced when the first alternator went in.

Less than 24 hours after replacing the alternator I have dead batteries again. There are no obvious lights on, to include dim lights in the cab or headlights after dark and the battery connections appear to be good.

Any thoughts on where I should start tracking this down or should I just pull the batteries and have them tested out of the vehicle?

Once you get it started up again check output voltage and make sure it's charging properly.

Most rebuilt alts are junk. 140 amp minimum is dust these trucks really need. Be carefully about letting batteries get too weak, that will damage ficm and you will need to fix that too.
