Dumb Question: Phone Hookup to Stock Stereo

I have a 2003 Limited with the 6 disc stock stereo. Stereo sounds quite good but I drive quite a bit for work and loving listening to the local morning radio show via streaming on my cell phone. In my Armada and my wife's STI the stock stereo's have a plug for aux input but no luck with the Ex. Is there any way to wire in something? I've tried a number of FM Transmitters and none seem to work well and have returned all 3 I've tried thus far. I don't really have the funds to put in a new HU as I need a ODBII Monitor and saving up for ARP studs, oil cooler, EGR delete etc.

I feel you pain. I listen to Sirius Sat. radio and I use the fm transmitter. In the very rural part of the state I live in it works fine but as soon as I go north it fails quickly.

That would be an ideal option but I don't have a cassette deck in the Ex.

I've got a JVC head unit I bought a while ago when it was on sale, that I am waiting to put in my future f350... Not to expensive. Let me know if you want to buy it. Not sure when i'll find my truck, so it doesn't make sense to have it sitting around!

where are you located?

You can easily get a used single din and an adapter that have the aux port.

I'm between Lancaster and Reading PA. About an hour west of philly.

What JVC unit do you have Norcal?

If I eventually replace the HU i'd go double din but for now I'd like to just keep ti looking stock and I actually like the way the radio/cd changer/dvd system works. Just want to be able to stream to it. Wearing headphones is not so ideal.

Bluetooth, I think it has a USB charging thing, and it might have a 3.5mm headphone jack.. The more I think about that it probably doesn't have the 3.5 jack

Just get a fm transmitter and plug it into your phone and tune the radio to the set frequency...

Cheap but works okay for the price
