??? Not sure. I know my cousins truck locks won't cycle, but he has an alarm installed and it has something to do with the way it was installed. Do you have anything else in the truck that isn't working correctly?

Not that I,ve found. I have the same results with both door switches (driver and passenger). I called my dealer this morning and they said it waseither a "gen module" (general something module behind radio that controls about 12 different things) or the switch. But if its the switch why would both be doing the same thing. I would think only the bad switch wouldnt work. And I can imagine how much $ that other thing would cost. I hate to buy something and it not be whats wrong since you cant take opened parts back for return.

If the drivers switch is bad it could cause them both to act up. The module they are referring to is the GEM (generic electronic module). I would tend to lean more towards a bad module than switch. A lot of times when they go bad it is because of water intrusion. Could have a leaky windshield allowing water to leak onto fuse box and GEM. It is fairly common to see. I would make sure you don't have a leaky windshield before replacing module or you might have the problem again. You won't always see water in the truck either.

It started working right last night but when I got up this morning it was messed up again. Then it worked for a few minutes again at work this morning before messing up again. Every time I open or close the door they lock or unlock. I shut the door with my keys in the truck today and it locked itself. Thank goodness I have the keypad on the door that still works. Guess I'll have to take it to the dealer and have it looked at, its annoying. It cycles sometimes just driving down the road.

PS It hasnt rained here in a couple weeks so I dont really think its a leaky windshield. Could be though if it's corroded or something.

Okay guys this is going to sound stupid (or it did to me) but is there some sort of pressure switch under the drivers seat? I ask because when I raised the seat up the locks started working temporarily. And then when they stopped working again evry time I would bounce in the seat they would try to lock themselves. I had noticed driving down the road today that when I would hit a bump or dip and the truck would bounce a bit the lock would try to lock.

Am I just losing my mind over this or is there something to this?

Door locks cycling

Yesterday my locks started cycling. I was driving and they popped down, then up, then down, then I could hear them and they were being commanded down over and over, then it stopped. Today they did the same thing. I disconnected the door switches when I got to work to eliminate them as the source. On the way home it re-occurred. Any thoughts?
Any one know what wire has the signal from the key pad or alarm? What does the gen module look like? Does it control the lock key pad also?

I have not got mine fixed yet. The mechanic at Ford said he would start by changing the relays. I could not find them. My locks have stopped cycling but the switch still is not working. I have noticed though that every time I shut my drivers side door the lights flash like they do if you lock the doors with the remote, even though the doors are unlocked.
