Where is the wire

When I bought my truck the previous owner told me he cut a purple wire so that the dinger wouldnt go off with key in and the door open. However, I didn't realize that as a side effect I can only lock the doors with the key fob. If I manually lock the doors the driver side lock unlocks itself as if the key was left in the ignition. I'm not sure if this is related, but I do not get a dinger for no seatbelt either, but the light on the dash still works. I would like to figure out where this wire is and hook it back up. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it.

I found the wire it was black with a purple tracer coming down from the ignition behind the panel. The ding is annoying, but the drivers door stays locked now.

Im pretty sure that Ive read somewhere that you can remove a cylinder from the steering column and the ding disappears! Just cant remember where I read that.
