Dome,cargo,step rail lights don't work

2006 ford f350 put LEDs in dome light putting it back it started sparking. When I finally got it on dome didn't work then noticed cargo and step rail lights lights didn't come on either checked all fuses they are all good called dealer and he said that the interior light relay is integrated with the damn cluster so he said you have to buy a new cluster $400 - $500 I don't want to spend that much just for interior lights. Got on Internet and read that people well get the black/lt blue wire which as no power cut it and put a toggle. My question is if I so that does everything work normal like turn on lights with remote and also turn off if doors stays open? Or it will only turn on if I flip the switch?

If your apply power thru the switch to the dead wire... It will only light up when the switch is turned on.

Can I splice into the battery saver wire light green/ yellow to black/lt blue wire or it won't do anything. I'm just asking cause if the lights won't come on when I open door I have no need for a toggle cause map lights still work
