Another headlight thread...

Im pretty sure I will be doing the 05-07 conversion to my 04 HD F250. Has anyone ever used the Headlight Depot brand or other aftermarket DOT approved housings?

I have found a few brands that offer everything for about 120-150 shipped including bulbs and conversion harnesses.

I searched the forum but only could find limited info.

I bought a different style from the same ebay store and have been very happy with them.
I do need a new set of adjusters but...

FYI...the H13 used in the '05 up housings is quite possibly the stupidest design for a bulb ever foisted on the public.
The terminals are so small that they overheat, even at stock wattages, and melt the plastic
housing of the connectors. Higher than stock wattage bulbs are offered, but not recommended and no harness or relay will fix the problem of to small of terminals.

Cary you got that right. I use to commonly pull back on the high beam switch just enough to make the low and the high beams come on together on the back roads I drive which melted and shorted out my lights. Not fun driving down a winding back country road at 80 kph and have everything all of a sudden go BLACK. Now I have six 100 watt Hellas that I pop into my Excursion's roof rack when I'm way out in the middle of nowhere.

The ones I got off eBay (don't remember if its the same place) had junk China made plastic which became real hazy after about three years. Ended up buying a used pair of Ford Harley headlights.

Only way to get good lighting on the '05 up trucks is a DYI projection hid or our Projection Hid service.

those look a lot like the stock 04s

I have a Harley so Id rather stay with the newer HD style. I cant really seem to find any used pairs of HD lights though.
