Aftermarket radio install harness


I am planning on replacing the Ford single disc player with a aftermarket unit. I was told by the stereo shop that I needed to buy an adapter for the radio antenna. The antenna cable on the aftermarket unit is the type found on all radios dating back to the 70's. I haven't taken the Ford radio out yet, so I don't know what it looks like at the back. Anyone know if this is true?

What year is your truck? I did mine a couple weeks ago. No adapters needed. For ease though I used a wiring harness for all the power and speaker wires. You can pick up a kit from eBay for about $15 with the dash mount and wiring harness. I got my custom sub box, subs and amp, now I just gotta get some time to install them and put little boom boom in my
