What buttons will I lose?

Hey guys,
I have a decent Sony head unit & install kit laying around. I'm thinking about throwing it in the truck without hunting for a steering wheel button thing. But if I do this, what steering wheel buttons will I lose function of? Clearly the radio buttons will not work and I can deal with that. Will the cruise & HVAC buttons continue to work OK?

I ask this because I have a 90's Buick that I put a radio in and ALL steering wheel buttons passed through the radio so I lost HVAC and radio control.

The truck's a 2005 F350

Thanks in advance,

-Hemicbx

What model unit is it? Some have features that let you keep functions.

My sony does not have that feature.

It does have a remote, so I can live without the steering wheel buttons for the radio, but I have to have the HVAC & cruise buttons.

The c/c and HVAC are on a different circuit and will not be affected if you remove the radio

I just wanted to close this thread out with a final answer. Many have already said it; the other buttons continue to work just fine. Only the radio buttons do not.

Thanks to all those who chimed in.

I have considered buying one of the little adapter thingys to make them work through this radio, but I'm not sure I see the need.

I'm so glad I finally installed the new head unit. Even with stock speakers it sounds much better and I can charge/play my iPhone through the radio now.

sorry I missed this earlier
I have done the swap and
agreed only the radio controls are lost it's not like some where the HU is the hub for multiple things and chimes

if someone wants to integrate the controls and has an applicable Head unit
a Metra Axxess AWSC can handle the integration better than the PAC unit IMHO
