Thanks for the great write up. I have been looking at this unit but was worried about the software support. Looks like I need to wait until they have better support for Android as I don't care for the iphone.

You have to dock your phone to get most functions. iPhone cable comes with the radio, my Android uses HDMI to Micro HDMI to dock. You can also bluetooth your phone in, I haven't really explored how much audio can go that way, but I'm sure pandora can.

I have been looking for something like this, wanting a display/radio combo that I can use to tap my Torque app into and not need another screen. If this works well with an iphone, it would make sense that I can use my torque app on the larger, central screen right?

There's pioneer approved apps that will go to the screen, you can check the app list if you download Pioneer's AppRadio app. There's a list of ones they have that will go directly to the head unit when connected.
