Custom dash switches

I have an illuminated toggle switch on my dash right next to the power point in the cab of my KR. This ugly thing is bright yellow and two inches long. I want to replace it with an illuminated pushbutton with my own text on the face. Does anyone know of a company that will make a one-off for this application?

Thanks
Doug

Hey buddy, I'm not sure of anyone who makes them custom but if you can find the type of button/switch you like I bet our buddy Jim can use that machine of his to customise it for you. Just a thought -
Later Amigo!

LOL! Sorry Bill. Doug (SciFi) used to be my boss before he moved to WV and Jim is a guy I work with, who ALSO used to work for Doug, who has a laser engraver that can do some pretty cool stuff.

Your BOSS? When did you EVER do anything I told you to do?

Jim has a 1500W engraver attached to his PC and a bunch of templates/rests he can use to hold weird shaped stuff. He should be able to take a stock pushbutton switch, turn the laser WAAAAY down and cut the word "STROBE" into the face. I just need to find a switch with a white face/cap and a red LED.

My next project will be something that will vibrate/bang on the seat frame to scare someone. You know how ppl can't resist asking about a red button. Put one on the dash that says "EJECT" and it's guaranteed someone will hit it.

Doug

Darn and here I was gonna tell everyone how you were the best boss I ever worked for and ya had to go and say that.

Love the ejection button idea though!

Are you trying to make something like a full on red button with wording on it? Does the wording have to be illuminated? If you answer yes/no, why not just use vinyl letters, and then use a rattle can of clear over it? The letters wont come off, and it is a simple little project. Hope this helps.

You could do something like a tow trucks switch panel and do the vinyl letters.

Nevermind this
