Batt. Tender solar panel?

15-Watt Solar Tender® Charger With Built-in Controller - Batterytender.com
$149,15watt solar panel from Battery Tender with built in control system. Wondering if anybody has ever permently fixed one of these to their trucks? Would fit nicely on weatherguard tool box. $149 is spendy but would they help the batteries life span?

I would like to do this as I have a drain somewhere that I have been unable to find. Have brand new batteries as of today to prove it!

Thats not a bad price. I wonder would their will be any issues with the truck sending power into the panel when running?

I'm so tempted to "borrow" one of those large solar panels off those solar powered portable road information signs and put it on top of my Excursion to keep my batteries charged up. LOL

I believe they are electronically protected from reverse power flow back into the panel.

that would be awesome to have the whole roof rack filled up with solar panels. You could back flow into the house on a bright day!

On our generators in theater(Afghanistan) had built in panels. not all, but the larger models did. it was a clever idea, and there was plenty of sun. Didnt know they had em for trucks.

Just that little charge helps. I was looking into a 15w+ kit, as that means a good 1 amp flow during the daylight hours. I have the place to hook it up top on the Excursion, so that isnt a problem.
