No Dash Lights after burning plastic smell...
So my dash lights for speed and gauges and the lights that light up the temperature dials stopped working the other day.
About a week ago one of my fuses blew (# 17 i think?) it was the one that powers the Fog lights and also the Lights mentioned above. So i simply replaced the fuse. Right before the lights went off, i smelt burning plastic and the lights went off and on multiple times before finally going off for good The fuse is not blown and my fog lights are working along with the running lights, brake lights, headlights, turn signals etc.....) Simply just the speed and gauges and temperature dial lights arn't working My question is where should I start looking for this wire that his burned out? I started googling and researching and noticed where this is a common problem and to start by removing the steering wheel case and looking at the top... Also my Tow Haul works if Just looking for any suggestions and will greatly appreciate the help! |

Hope your problem is not like mine was. I lost dash light, tail lights, and fog lights. Fuse 17 was blown, replaced then blew it again. Well one month later I got it back from shop. Fuse box was replaced, main wiring harness was rebuilt and new pcm put in. The fuse panel and wiring were totally fried, this took out pcm and security system. I did not replace the security system as I had 2600 dollars into everything else.
