Parking brake light stays on
Like the title says my light won't go out. I've checked the fluid level and its right on the money. My pads are new. I've played with the pedal and nothing. Any ideas? It's driving me crazy!

Have you checked the switch on the parking brake assembly? Do you get a 'ding-ding' when the light is on?

yeah if you get down and look at the parking brake pedal assembly, and push down the pedal a little, you will see the little switch that the parking brake hits when its released. something has to be wrong with that switch or something is stopping the pedal from coming all the way back

No ding sound. I've looked and it looks like its releasing all the way.

I don't know if there is a float in the master cylinder, but if there is it could be stuck in the bottom position and keeping the light on. On a 94 Toyota Camry thats what happened to me. Put fresh fluid in and cleaned out the master cylinder and good to go. Semper Fi. MOS 3516/3531 CPL E4
