door ajar

I have a basket case truck. I have searched all the door ajar issues. Truck is an 03 super cab. I have replaced the drivers side switch and lubricated the pass side. The pass side works fine the drivers side on the other hand works opposite what it is supposed to. When the door is closed I get the door ajar light and the dinger. When I open the door it goes out. This only happens with the drivers door. When closed with the dinger going, no key in ignition I can wiggle the ignition and the dinger stops. Is the ignition somehow tied in?

The door has been changed before I purchased the truck. I do not know what year truck the door came from. They did not change the handle and key cyl as the key does not work in that door.

Power windows and locks work fine. Truck does not have keyless entry.

Just fyi for any one having problems with this.
I got my original switch from advanced auto. Part number is s1066. This switch is a normally open switch. It worked exactly opposite what it should.
I stopped by my dreaded dealer this morning and picked up a switch they say it calls for. Part number XF2Z14018AD. This switch is a normally closed switch. This should solve my problem and probably many others as well.

Advance did have another switch listed, but I just happen to be by the dealer with my multi meter so I did not check the advanced switch.
