06 radio in 05

Alright this might be a dumb question but I just bought my second superduty and this time I got an 05 an it has the newer radio in it but it doesn't have a factory aux in. I read that ford has 2 different companies making their radios. One company has Aux in and the other doesn't and they are different electronics but have the same face. So all I'm asking is can I swap a 06/ 07 radio with factory aux in for a factory 05 head unit with out an aux in port? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks guys and girls!

I don't know if any reason why it shouldn't work just fine.

The harness should be the same (at least the service manual shows the connector being the same). Pretty sure the wiring is the same through the whole series (go check out the aftermarket wiring harnesses at crutchfield.com or somewhere similar to see what years they fit).

Yes it can. It was changed in 04, so the 05-07 trucks share the same unit.
