Edge Insight CS Mounting using the Autometer Half Pillar Pod

Just wanted to share what mount I just changed to for my Edge Insight CS.

Since I purchased the Insight (well over a year ago), I've always used the factory supplied windshield suction mount. I didn't really like the mount that Edge came up with (the dash mount) ... mostly because it attaches to the dash using adhesive. Down south, adhesive in the interior usually turns into a goo that doesn't stick or turns into something that damages whatever it is stuck too.

Anyway ... when I was looking for mount options, I don't recall seeing the one I just installed. So, I thought I'd add some pictures for the benefit of others who may have the same question in the future.

This mount is the Autometer Edge Attitude Mount Half pillar pod #13001. I got mine from DieselPowerProducts.com; these folks painted it for me, it comes in black only. So this is specifically for the Edge Attitude, but since the Attitude & the Insight CS have the same case size, all you have to do is trim a little plastic behind the socket for the Insight wire passage using a Dremel (easy). This thing mostly is a "friction fit"; although you do have to remove the grab bar to install it, and then the grab bar holds it in place after its re-installed. There's no drilling or adhesive holding the mount in place ... only adhesive used is for the velcro that holds the Insight in the socket. Here's the pics:

There are pics/post else where on the web where folks have used this mount for the CTS as well ... but I can't say for sure since I'm using the CS.
