Scangauge II PIDs
I'm looking to see if there is a PID to check the glow plugs. I checked out the write up thread on monitoring the 6.0 and I didn't see a PID for glow plugs listed. Is there one and I just didn't see it??
Thanks for the help!
Here is a list.
Below I have added to the list of Xgauges Fords specs for most of the gauges.
KO=KEY ON LI=LOW IDLE HI=HIGH IDLE OR=OPERATING RANGE (High idle for these tests is set at 2500 RPMs, and Engine at operating temps)
FICM Vehicle Power (Volts) (Should be 12 Volts, should not drop below 10.25 for more than 60 seconds, or 9.0 for 4 seconds. TSB 09-24-03)

FICM Main Power (Volts) (Should be 47-48) Your FMP should never dip below 45. If it does, your FICM is toast and needs repaired or replaced.

Note: Voltage of the ETC Throttle Position Sensor number 1
KO=4.0 LI=4.0 HI=3.4 OR=0.7 - 4.2 VOLT Accelerator Pedal Track 1
Throttle Position 2 (Volts)
Note: Voltage of the ETC Throttle Position Sensor number 2
KO=1.4 LI=1.4 HI=1.9 OR=1.4 - 4.1 VOLT Accelerator Pedal Track 2
Throttle Position Desired (Degrees)

Note: EGR Valve Position in hundredths of a millimeter, where 0 mm indicates a closed EGR valve position.
EGR Valve Position Desired (%)
EGR Valve Position Measured (%)
Note: MEASURED EGR Valve Position, in %, where a low value indicates a closed EGR valve (0 EGR flow), and a high value indicates an open EGR valve.
KO=0 LI=0 HI=9.72 OR=0 - 14 PERCENT
EGR Valve Position (Volts 0-5)
KO=0.8 LI=0.8 -1.0 HI=1.3 OR=0.6 - 3.5 VOLT

KO=0 LI=1 HI=1 OR 0-1 (NO/YES)
Intake Air Temperature 2 (Fahrenheit)
Engine HOT KO=113 LI=113 HI=113 OR= -40-250 *F
Here is another BAR if the above one is not working for you. The one below works for me.
Barometric Pressure (PSI)
KO=96.5 (14) LI=96.5 (14) HI=96.5 (14) OR=50 - 120 (7.3 - 17.4) kPa (PSI)
Exhaust Back Pressure
KO=103 (15) LI=110 (16) HI=110 (16) OR=55 - 607 (8 -88) kPA (PSI)
Volume Fuel Desired
Mass Fuel Desired (Milligrams Per Stroke)
KO=0 LI=7.5 HI=10.7 OR=0-100
Engine Run Time (Minutes)
Fan Speed Sensor (RPM)
KO=0 LI=533 HI=488 OR=0-4000
Manifold Absolute Pressure (PSI) (BOOST)
MAP is a standard gauge - but this XGauge is actually better than the standard one. It has a larger range which was needed because the standard gauge tops out around 37 psi absolute (about 22 lbs of boost), which diesels have no problem doing. This one should read well beyond 22lbs of boost.
With a little tweaking you can adjust this to read boost as you said.
To do this, just plug in the MAP code - get a reading from it with the key in the on position but the engine off, then based on the reading changed the last 4 digits of the MTH to whatever corresponds to your reading on this table
14.0 -- FF74
14.1 -- FF73
14.2 -- FF72
14.3 -- FF71
14.4 -- FF70
14.5 -- FF6F
14.6 -- FF6E
14.7 -- FF6D
14.8 -- FF6C
14.9 -- FF6B
15.0 -- FF6A
So, for example if you got a reading of 14.5 PSI with key on engine off you'd change the MTH to 01220320FF6F and the reading should read 0.0 with key on engine off and would then show how many lbs of boost you were at when the vehicle is running.
Injector Timing Before Top Dead Center (Degrees)
KO=0 LI=-8.71 HI=+3.5 OR-50 - 50 ANGLE (Degrees) Injector Timing (TDC)
Fuel Injector Pulse Width (Microseconds)
Gear (Transmission Gear)
Vehicle Speed Sensor (MPH)
Accelerator Pedal Position (%)
Key On=0 LI=0 HI=13 Op range=0-17.75 (mine reads up to 99%, not sure why)
DTC Count (Diagnostic Trouble Code Count)
Counts trouble code cycles
KO=0 LI=0 HI=0 OR=0 - 255
VREF (Calibration Voltage Input)
KO=4.9 LI=4.9 HI=4.9 OR=4.5 - 5.5 VOLTS Reference Voltage
Net Torque into Torque Converter (Ft-Lbs)
Thanks Eli! That looks like the same list posted in the monitoring thread. I don't see anything about glow plugs in there though...
Then most likely it does not exist...
Cuz Sean is very smart in this scangauge2 codes (taught me alot) and he never talked about it. So, IDK
There are three PIDs available for glow plugs.
GPCTM = Glow Plug Coil On Time (Actual time the coil is hot)
GPL = Glow Plug Indicator (Just that the Wait to start light is on or not)
GPLTM = Glow Plug Indicator On Time (This would list how long the light was on )
Let me see what I can do on these.
Might take a few days, and will need to have a couple people test these on different MY trucks.
Thanks for bringing this up.
Ok, time for some testing!!!
Here are a few new Xgauges to try. These came from James at Linear Logic.
Here’s what I’ve come up with for the XGauges requested.
MAP Voltage (Volts)
Note: This one seems a bit odd, but try it out and let me know if you need finer resolution. This one will go by whole numbers, but the range is something like +/- 32 Volts which seems weird for a sensor – they’re usually 0-5 volts
EP Volts (Volts)
Note: This one may have weird readings if the values get to high, let me know.
Glow Plug Coil Time (Seconds)
Glow Plug Light On
Glow Plug Lamp On Time (Seconds)
Try those out and let me know how they do.

When programming these... is it specific to Scan Gauge? I can add custom PIDS to engine link but need the ECU, mode, etc
