Remote Starter Problem/guestion..

I just had a AudioVox APS57C installed and everything seems good but one thing. I noticed when I use the auto start my glow plug light does not come on during the 15sec delay before starting. It starts fine but its not cold out yet. When I turn the key to the on postion the light still does not come on. Is this normal? Are the plugs still heating up but no dash light?

I like it for a budget type auto start.. Whats really nice is my trk didnt have a key remote to unlock the doors stock but now I can use the auto start to unlock my doors. But it works good and has a long range.
I had it installed at CarTek in Valpo for $225.. I happy so far..

There is a wire from the remote start to turn on the light, but don't worry it is still working fine, the plugs are heating up
I have done over 50 remote star on diesel and only once connect the light wire
we never do that, it’s a lot of work to go behind the dash

Actually, I've been reading that hooking up to the wait to start light on these trucks is a bad thing, and it would be best to use the timer functions. DEI specifies this (using the timer) on one of their tech sheets. It appears that this is what your installer did based on the 15 second delay before starting. If it was hooked up to the light, the delay would vary based on the time that the light stays lit. As for the light not coming on when remote starting, it could be that the circuit or circuits that power that are not being energized by the remote start. When installing a remote start you typically energize the circuits needed to start the truck and run the AC and heat.
