CB Radio Gurus... Help
CB Radio and Electronic Gurus i have an issue, and right now my brain is in limp mode due to other issues with the truck...
![]() Installed a used Cobra 29LX i purchased from a member here. When i first installed it, i taped in power from where i got my gauge and a factory ground. But i noticed every time i pressed the talk button my EGT gauge would cycle to peak position. So i rewired everything with some 10ga wire and both power and ground to the battery. Hooked everything up last night and its still peaking the EGT gauge, even thought both circuits are separate now. The radio is hooked up to a groundless antenna and cable. and is using 18ft of cable. I know its gonna be something stupid or something simple ive overlooked. but any help or direction will help. Id like to get this up and running and set up so i can have a radio for plow season. Thank you in advanced Jason |

I had the same problem with my cb. Every time I would talk my fuel pressure gauge would lose pressure. Where did you run the power wire to?

The radio is a 10ga wire right to the battery.
The gauges is spliced into the radio harness. |

The gauges are tied into the cb radio harness? Or the factory head unit

Sorry the factory headunit harness. At this point both circuits are completely separate.

This might sound dumb but have you tried the radio with the truck off and see if it does it?

With the truck off. nothing happens with the gauge. however now i noticed a light buzzing coming from my speakers. turn the power on on the truck gauge acts up and buzzing still herd.

That's odd. You may have to wire your gauged to something other then your radio harness. Go over to the master cb thread and I have a vid up of what mine was doing. If that us exactly what yours is doing that might be the problem. That's how I fixed mine
