I gave never heard of them but they must be good. I have not been into aftermarket car auto in years. My driver door speaker is not as loud as the passenger side. From the drivers seat the passanger one over powers the driver side so i think it might be blown.

3-ways are gimmicky, for the most part. Stick with a 6.5 and tweet, or even a 5x7 coaxial set for easiest installation. Putting an amp on them will make a huge difference in sound quality (assuming you have a good head unit). If you don't have a good head unit, that should be your first step. Also, deaden your doors with a quality sound deadening product. Its not hard to do, and well worth it.
Focal makes good stuff, but also some cheap entry level stuff, as do most companies. Spend more and get a better product from them. There are a ton of brands to see and hear, so take your time. I love my JL speakers (ZRs and C3s in the F250 and C5s and C2s in the Explorer). |

Does my problem with my passenger speaker over powering the driver side sound like a blown speaker?

Possibly, but if the speaker is blown and still putting out sound, it should sound like garbage. Put your head down there and see if it sounds really crackly. Either way, stock stuff sucks, so you might as well start upgrading.

I gotta agree with jlov, seperates (6.5" woofers and tweets up top) with an amp and decent head unit is by far the best, but on a budget a good 2way speaker would be OK. I've heard Focals are good as well.
I run 6.5 MBQuarts in the doors and 1 1/4 tweets in the black thing on the door, but will be moving the tweets to the A pillars fired off the windshield, for a better front stage, in my testing it seems better to me. |
