electrical/charging problem
2004 f250 - the pink wire in the radio wiring harness shorted to frame causing th 15A fuse in the fuse box to blow. Replaced the fuse but now the battery light and abs light stay on. The alternator reads right around 12V. Had the alternator check and it checked out fine. Also replaced the batteries with two known good ones and the problem still exists. My thought is something on the same circuit as that pink wire shorted also..any ideas what it may be?

I know you said you replaced the batteries with two good ones, but it sounds like a low voltage problem. Either batteries are not 100% or Alternator is not putting out enough voltage, I believe the alternator should be putting out 13 volts or more.
I had the same abs light coming on and it turned out to be the batteries (and then ultimately the alternator was bad which drained my batteries). |
