Not sure which piece you have but our piece, the PAC AAI-FRD04 plugs into the 16 pin port

Is the truck supposed to have both a 16 and 24 pin?

the 24 pin is the radio/speakers. The 16 pin is the aux/RSE input.

The plug from the adapter plugs into the 16 pin port in the back of the radio.Im pretty sure you don't even have to unplug that 24 pin plug.

Yes I understand all I'm asking is if there's no 16 pin plug connected into the back of my radio should there be one unplugged behind the radio somewhere or do I just plug my interface in by itself?

do you need to have the power/ground hooked up for it to work or do you need to do that only if you want the charging feature to work?
