"Dinger" won't stop
06 f-350 SRW King Ranch FX4. You know that annoying sound that starts when you open the door and the keys are still in the ignition? Well mine doesn't stop when u take the key out. It stops only when I shut the door. Doesn't really bother me just wondering if it may be doing that for any reason? Letting me know something is wrong? I don't know. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

remove the key cylinder and there is a brass tab that make contact with the key.See if that is bent. (to remove the cylinder, turn the key to the "ON" position and under the column theres a hole to press the relese detent, press and pull the cylinder out.)

![]() The little tab thingy in mine was messed up. I just pulled it out & taped it up. No more dinger. You'll likely need to pull the upper & lower steering cowl off to see everything. They're only held in by 3 screws. Pull the cylinder, pull the upper/lower cowl & you'll see everything. |

New "dinger" switch part number is XL3Z-11A128-AA. Should be about $20. When you pull ignition cylinder out (super easy) you will see a small metal tab on a little black plastic piece (that is the part). It is on the lower left side of the hole. Mine is an '05 and the wire is black with a pink stripe. Just ordered mine Monday.
