Edge Insight does't come on until startup

I seem to remember the insight would come on when you turned the key one so you could read voltage and whatnot. But when I installed my CS last week it asked me for the VIN for the truck, and now it only comes on AFTER I start the truck. Is there a setting I need to change?

On my Edge CTS, I can press on the screen after turning the ignition key to on and it will power up prior to starting the engine.

if you wire it up to a start up fuse, (don't ask me how to) it should start to come on when the ignition is turned on

Mine comes on when key is at the "on" position. It doesn't ask me for VIN either, it says, reading VIN, then up comes the screen with all the info you've chosen to monitor. Mine is the CTS Insight.

The first three times you use it on any vehicle, it will force you to ack the disclaimer, but other than that, like you said, you should be seeing battery voltages and ECT immediatly, prior to engine on.

Mine also did like yours. One day I noticed I needed to actually start the truck for it to come on. I unplugged it 2 or 3 times and it started to work again with out the truck running.

I got in this morning, turned the key one a pressed the enter button. It came on like it was supposed to. I guess it just needed to know I wanted it on lol
