Sub-box help

Ok. I spent all afternoon building a box for my 2 10s the other day based on specs i've read on here. they have a 5" mounting depth so i made the box 6" on bottom and 5" up top and 48" wide. The magnet was almost touching the back of the box with the speakers mounted as low as i could get them.....got it all done and THE FREAKING SEAT WONT LOCK BACK....

any guys with an 06 lariat put any boxes behind their seat? I have 2 vents back there that are giving me problems as well as the window motor.

any help would be appreciated!

I removed/covered the vents on mine as well. I have two shallow mount Alpine 12's behind the seat. Even with the vents removed I had to modify the back of the box so the magnets would have clearance. I flush mounted the subs with the front of the box, if I had just mounted them on the front of the box I would not have had clearance issues.

I'm looking at starting to collect parts for sub and speakers. So 6inch of depth is acceptable in the back?

I removed the vent and replaced with hushmat.

I just built the box to fit around any obsticles. now i did cut the back carpet hump that covers the vent.

I recommend the hushmat over other sound deading material
this is why
