Two electrical questions

1 - Does the factory radio slide out 'with' or 'without' removing that piece of the dash?

2 - Chicken lights. The ones above the windshield and on the rear of hatch (i drive an excursion). Where does one go to have those installed? (if I do it they'll end up crooked. its just a fact. haha)

2-I would still do it myself. Even if it is crooked I would still feel good that I did it myself

My radio pulled out from the front. 2003 if that makes a different from other years.

I have a 2004. The radio comes out as a single unit, face plate and all. Go to the auto parts store, and buy this inexpensive kit that has two big U's in it. Will probably be in the radio/stereo section. You push them both into the holes on each side of the radio, at the same time. You only push in until there is a slight click- don't push all the way in or it won't disengage the latch things. Then you hold both of the big U's and pull out the radio. Once it's out a little bit, you disconnect the cables.

The holes are vertical.

This worked for me. Hope it helps.

Once you pull off the face of the dash the stereo is held in with four small bolts.
