Keyless Entery Code
Hey fellas got a 2005 Excurstion Limited with auto climate controls. I have read the post on where the modual is located however, after tearing the dash apart and rummaging for hrs under the dash I can't seem to locate the darn thing. I've had other Ford products and was able to locate it on them but this time I've had zero luck. Don't want to pay Ford house to give me the code if I can find it myself. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Did you move the white insulation under the dash? I only as because despite what most threads say about this, I had to move the white insulation near the radio while laying on my back in the drive side floor board. It was still hard to find too.

I moved insulation everything and no luck. When I pulled the radio all I could see is duct work, a module for vacumm lines and the climate controller. Took trash bag holder out and still nothing.

I found mine by pulling back the white insulation behind the radio and looked thru the hole where the upfitter switches and 4wd shifter would be located (on the drivers side), put the seat all the way back. It was tricky to find but well worth the tear down. Are you in Dallas Texas or Georgia?

Its there , you have to be in the right position or you want see it. Lay on your back from the drivers side with your head looking up from the center hump. You pretty much have to get your head under the dash. Shine a light up from the bottom and take a long screwdriver and push up and out on the white insulation . The box is mounted to the firewall and the # is towards the center of the white sticker and the #'s are upside down on mine. Its not easy to see but I think thats the point of it being there.

When I did mine, my head was by the pedals, and an arm through were the stereo was. Still had to move lots of wires and insulation AND use a mirror to see the code. Took way longer than it should, but worth it in the end.
BTW - write down the code! You can put one code in yourself, but if anyone drains the battery (work on airbags), you may have to resort to the original. |
