I ordered a camera kit online. The only thing is you need a screen of some sort to show it. I ran mine through my dvd player in the dash it works wonderful even at night and the camera was around a hundred bucks.

Nice! I am looking at a 7" monitor that I will mount as well as a camera that I will mount on the rear bumper. All in all it looks like a lil under 200.00. Plus I will mount a DVD player so I can hook it up to the monitor as well. I think you can find them for around 100.00 to 200.00. Mainly I just need the camera to speed up the boat hookup and Keep an I on things on trips. Plus the lady and parking hehe!

I can see where you're coming from Moe but the coolness factor x 10 of having one plus the many times I've been on our ranch and gone to turn around WISHING I'd had one to make sure I didn't back into a stump really makes me want to get one to plug into my D3.

I have a few wireless 12 volt cameras with mic and night vision I got on eBay for around $40 each and mounted one of them in the back window of my camper. I hook the receiver to my portable DVD player and sit it on the console when towing. Works pretty good but all the metal from the camper and electronics in the truck makes a little static. But for less than $40 it works great, I imagine it would work really good on the bumper.

I still don't agree with this "coolness" factor of having a camera. . . <shugs shoulders>
but the vehicles I drove with the cameras also had backup sensors. The beeping drove me crazy! Five feet from the wall and the thing's going nuts!!!
:drive:

But the camera in the camper window is an awesome idea.

this works for me when i back up my self. i put some 100mph tape on my tail gate in line with my hitch. and do the same on the trailer in line with the toung. all so they have these magnetic flags that you put one in your hitch and the other on the trailer
