Locking Toolbox
Alright, Here is my idea. Have a bed mounted tool box that will lock when you lock your truck doors via the key fob. I keep my tool box locked all the time because I have had 2 instances where somebody helped themselves to my stuff. They key for the box is on my key ring and some times i need to get in there and the truck already be cranked so i have to turn it off open the tool box get what i need then lock it back up. It would be nice to just hit the unlock button and it be open. Any ideas???
Thanks, |

You would have to figure out a way to mount and wire an actuator to the door lock circuitry and see if the throw length of the actuator is the same as unlocking mechanism on the toolbox.

yeah, i figured i would need the actuator. i was mainly checking to see if maybe somebody had done it before and maybe had a parts list. It is something i have thought about for a while just havent done it. I will be researching some actuators to see if i can find one that will work. If anybody knows the wires to tap into that would help also.

A cheaper option is getting a quick connect for your tool box key.

a door lock actuator is the way to go if you want to run it off your factory locks. Fairly easy to wire up too.
