Battery Recommendations?

I'm going to be upgrading my FICM to a 58V Swamps unit before long (thanks to tuckman!) and I was considering replacing my batteries as well to make sure I don't damage this new FICM. Currently, I'm only getting readings of like 13.3-13.8V on my CTS, which seems abnormal. Before I jump off and buy $300 worth of batteries, I was wondering if you all would give me your recommendations on what brand of battery I should buy. We've always just ran the Motorcraft 850cca batteries, but I figure that's open for interpretation. As bad as I hate to say it, Walmart carries the best value of battery for the dollar/warranty. O'Reilly's has the SuperStarts that are a little cheaper, but warranty isn't as good. My father in law swears by the Interstates, but I'm not sure why other than they look nice under the hood. Please share with me your personal experience with batteries and let help me pick out a good pair that will last me awhile!

I love my napa legend 75 batteries. I got them for $69 each. We've been using them for the last couple years since napa switched manufacturers.

I don't think my local Napa carries the Legend batteries anymore? They carry some other brand that I can't remember what the name is. They don't even say Napa on them. I'm a little leary of buying them..

That's weird. They should be able to get them then. We haven't had a single failure and we put them in every car that needs a new battery at the shop i work at. Mine are rated at 850cca and i tested them at 1,100cca each.

You say they were only $69/ each? Because I think the Motorcrafts are like $139/each!

Just looked at Napa's website and they have the Legend 75s for $131.00 with a $5.00 core charge. Seem high?

Going to Sears on Tuesday to get a pair of Platinums. They are the same as the Odyssey batteries. Use PURE lead and are 4 year warranty free replacement. They also have higher voltage output and higher CCA. They are a bit pricey, just under $500.00, but the military uses this same battery in their tanks, Humvees, etc.
