batteries run down fast, time for new ones?
I have been having hard start issues the last couple of weeks and determined it was low oil pressure and a bad FICM. Now I only get about 5-6 seconds of crank time before the batteries run down. I charged them all the way overnight and still only about 5 secs. A month ago I had them load tested and they checked out ok. Do I need new batteries, and which ones? I won't skimp on batteries, so the most reliable.

Those are 300 on the site. But you can get them for about 160 each at batteries plus.
Its a super high quality deep cycle battery. Puts optimas to shame |

I would do a load test on your alternator also.

Batteries
Are you running any sort of extra's, subs GPS air bags that sorta thing? if not i would stick with something that's not so crazy. There really is no need for a deep cycle in these diesels. Everyone I know runs regular 65 groups in their trucks and they use them as work vehicles. I work for Interstate Batteries so I'm partial of course. The most you should be paying for two of the top line batteries from us for that truck is around $140 a piece.
