brake lghts turn on by themselves

this has started happening more frequently over the last 3 months. Whether I am driving or in the middle of the night when the truck is sitting in the driveway, the brake lights will come on for about 5 minutes and then turn off by themselves. nothing I've tried will turn them off until they are ready to turn off by themselves.

Anyone else had this problem? I'm guessing there is some type of switch on the pedal. That'll be the first place I look when I get home

Unplug your trailer fuse I think there is 2 and see if you can unplug the trailer wiring its self. Sometimes those get a short and it can mess with the whole truck.

Or the Brake pedal sensor.

I pulled the fuses and still had the problem, ended up being the trailer brake controller itelf. Thanks for the input
If it ends up being something else,ill repost
