Help with picking DVD player
I've been out of the stereo system stuff for a few years. I'm wanting to replace my OEM 6-disc with a DVD player. Main reason for doing this is to have a solid connection for my Ipod, and to add an amp/sub. Backup camera would be nice too. Basically, I'm not looking for a bunch of fancy stuff, just something that works. I'm not wanting to spend major bucks on this either. Of course, it would make perfect sense to go with a cheap single-din player, but I just like the smooth looks of the double-din.
What player would you guys recommend to go with? I've ordered stuff in the past from Crutchfield, but is there any cheaper place to buy from? |

I just put a kenwood ddx 896 or something like that in. I have a backup camera, Sirius, sub, DVD, cd, oh and the radio. All for $1000 even. I'd just wait till the end of the year when the new stuff is coming or a big sale. That's all I did. The deck alone was 1200 dollars originally. But I wouldn't go to cheap because you do get what you pay for especially in electronics. And down the road I can still add navigation, but I live in Montana so it's not really worth it right now. But the backup camera is awesome in cclb

And I put it (Pioneer AVH-P3200BT) in my 06 Harley CCSB. The blue tooth works very well, as does everything else. I like the SD slot on front too. My ebrake is bypassed so my wife can watch DVD's or I can listen to concert footage while driving. Two big thumbs up for this stereo!

I put a Kenwood DNX-9140 in my 06 King Ranch F250 Crew Cab about a year ago. Unit has all the bells and whistles (Bluetooth, Garmin GPS). All the other upgrades were additiponal $$ (XM Radio, Back Up camera, I-Pod cable). Spent about $1400 total and it was well worth it. The base unit was about $950 through Amazon. Kenwood even has a better backup camera now that you can "steer" and I believe zoom. In September I had a mobile audio shop install a 4 channel stero amp and JL Audio speakers in the door panels, a 1 channel 700w subwolfer amp along with a JL audio subwolfer under the rear fold up seat. Awesome sounds!!! The relatively few extra bucks up front for the top of the line Kenwood was well worth it.
