Question Modding my 6 cd changer with RCA cable

A few months ago, I stumbled on a thread where someone actually tore apart their stock 6 cd changer head unit and soldered a 2.5mm audio cable directly to the motherboard and used it to pirate his ipod to his cd player. I can't find that thread and I would really like to do that rather than spend hundreds on PIE connectors or use a FM modulator. It was an ingenious fix. Does anyone know where that thread is? Or can you point me to similar fix somewhere?
Greatly appreciated!
