Finally ordered HID's for my headlights and fog lights the other day. Cant wait for them to get here and put them on the truck.

I was under the impression that installing HID in factory housings was not good or something.

Just put mine on yesterday.....Holy headlights!! They're great. I did the 35W 6K lights.

Strokinpower there is nothing wrong with installing HID's in factory housings. They work great. I have heard that they are illegal in some states if they are not oem equipment, but I have never had a problem in the past with other vehicles. I think the main thing is you might wanna adjust your headlights after you install the HID's so they arent blinding anyone. Mine should be here anytime today. I wish they would hurry up! lol It is supposed to start getting cold again tonight and the weather is supposed to get bad. You guys that have already installed HID's where did yall mount the ballast? I havent even looked under the hood to check for a place to mount them.

Got the headlights installed. They look great! My friend gave me a kit for my fog lights but the bulbs were wrong. So when I ordered my headlight kit I ordered some bulbs. I got the fog lights hooked up but they would not come on. I tried some hooking the bulbs that came in that kit and they still didn't come on. I guess the ballast are bad. So I'm gonna have to order a new kit. I'm at work all nite. If I can figure out how to post pics using my phone I will post a pic.

What company did you go with? If you went with DDM, flip the plug 180* that plug into the ballast. I had the same problem with my fogs and so have other guys. It fixed my issue.

I have 2 sets of hid's from my GTO and they were the same way. I'm curious if the wirnig harness is the same for the truck as it was my gto. If it is all I need to do is buy the bulbs. Then I need to get the factory driving lights on and put the hid's in there too.

Ok I got my fog lights working. There wasnt anything wrong with the ballast or the wiring. I dont know what I was doing the other night, but I went out there today and within 5 minutes I had them mounted and lit up! I will take some pics tonight and post them.

What K of bulbs did you guys get for the fogs? i'm looking to do mine but not sure wether to go with the matching headlight 6000k's or go with the yellow 3000k's???
